Bannering the theme: “Looking Beyond our Milestones towards Globalization,” ISU Cabagan Campus hosts the 38th Founding Anniversary of Isabela State University System at Andaya Multi-Purpose Hall on June 10, 2016.
    Prof. Oliveros M. Valiente, Campus Executive Officer, highlighted the achievements and triumphs attained by the university throughout the years up to this date.
    He made mentioned about the number of college and university presidents whose leadership produced several student top notchers in the regional and national board examination and bar examination, exceptionally talented individuals who made significant contributions in research and development and training and extension.
    In fact, the 2015 DOST-PCAARRD Tanglaw Awards recognized Isabela State University as the Most Outstanding Research Institution in the Philippines. In 2014, it was awarded as the Most Outstanding Accounting Office and Ilagan Campus topped No. 7 in the Best Engineering School in the country and No. 1 outside the National Capital Region.
    Likewise, four programs and colleges of the university attained Center of Development status during the term of Dr. Aleth Mamauag, University President, namely: CTE (ISU Cabagan), ITC (ISU Cauayan City), and BSA and BSIT (ISU Echague). This status was conferred by the Commission on Higher Education.
     In lieu hereof, Mamauag inspired everybody through her words of encouragement to keep on moving, achieving, succeeding and focusing on quality excellence to cope up with globalization.
     This was in accordance to Governor Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III in his keynote speech whom District I Board Member Ric Justice Angobung delivered, “The bright and productive men and women who are products of ISU can only be expected to produce and raise bright and productive children. The continuing cycle of passing on the value of good education is therefore now a culture that we see in Isabela.”
    Moreover, the winners of the 2016 Search for Best Undergraduate Thesis and R&D Symposium, Recognition of Faculty and Non-Academic Staff for Meritorious Staffs of the University were given awards for their invaluable efforts and committed services to the university.
    Likewise, ISU also awarded its outstanding campuses in participating the University Level Clean and Green competition, in which Cabagan Campus triumphed as first place, Cauayan City Campus pegged as second place, and Angadanan Campus as third place, with 100,000, 70,000, and 50,000 peso cash prize, respectively.
     Faculty and staff from the different campuses, members of the university board of regents, stakeholders, student leaders, and government officials attended the said remarkable event.

    Nanguna si Mr. Louterio Sanchez, Insurance Underwriter ng DA-PCIC RO2, noo’y nagtapos na cum laude sa programang BS Agriculture at ikalimang nakakuha ng pinakamataas na marka sa Licensure Examination for Agriculturists noong 2013, bilang inducting officer.
    Sa kaniyang mensahe, iminungkahi ni Sanchez ang halaga ng pagsisilbi sa kapwa mag-aaral at sa pamantasan bilang patunay ng mabuting serbisyo, pamamahala, at paninindigan.
    “Ang pagiging lider ay hindi umiinog sa katanyagan, bagkus ay sa responsibilidad at gampanin na nakaakibat ng salitang ito. Sa mga panahong namalagi at nagsilbi ako sa institusyong ito, napag-alaman kong ang pamumuno ay sa puso nagmumula at hindi sa utak,” ayon kay Roldan Ormilla, pangalawang pangulo ng Supreme Student Council, sa kaniyang pambungad na pananalita.
    Dinaluhan ng mga naitalagang opisyales ng iba’t ibang organisasyon at lipunan sa kampus ang naturang panunumpa, kasamang nanumpa dito ang mga lipunang panrelihiyon na binuo sa loob ng pamantasan.

Singapore- Six students of Isabela State University underwent the five-week Temasek Foundation Specialist’s Community Action and Leadership Exchange at Singapore Polytechnic on June 5-25, 2016.
    The students were Roger Adson S. Abana, Jordan P. Bacani, Mae-ann F. Vinarao, and Ryan B. Bacani (Cabagan Campus), Macario Tamundong Jr. (Angadanan Campus), and Emanuel Salvador (Echague Campus).
    The university delegates along with other participants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Bulacan State University attended the lectures and discussions with a focus on Leadership, History and Culture, and Design Thinking Methodology.
    The program aimed at bringing together youths from ASEAN region to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of the issues and challenges facing Asia.
    Moreover, the Temasek Foundation wanted to inspire student-leaders to take definitive action and contribute to the future, and to build leadership capabilities and develop friendship among youth leaders.
    Mr. Norman New, SP Instructor, introduced the Seven Habits of Highly Effective Leaders to the participants based on Stephen Covey’s book where Covey featured the Maturity Continuum that illustrates an inside-out approach to effective leadership.
    New said that one must be effective at leading his own life first before he can successfully lead others or be a team player.     On the other hand, Ms. Tan Teck Ngee, SP Teacher, acquainted the scholars about the historical background and social perspective to provide a simple discovery of the country and its complete growth. Meanwhile, Mr. Tan Keh Kang, Design Thinking (DT) Trainer, presented the DT methodology and its stages where the class was divided into three with the assigned topics on Health Care, Social Integration, and Environment to produce more innovative and constructive prototypes as well as to develop better solutions to social problems.
    The students also went to Temasek Polytechnic for a whole-day class on global community with Ms. Amy Daga, TP Instructor.     To appreciate the beauty and culture of Singapore, the scholars toured around China Town, Little India, and Kampong Glam as part of their learning journey during the last four days.
    The programme is an annual grant by TF since 2014 to provide leadership scholarship for ASEAN students and select scholars to stay for 3 weeks and two-week Learning Express programme (LEX) in the local host country.
